What is an NFT?

Everyone knows that an NFT is a non-fungible token. But what does it mean? 

An NFT, or Non-Fungible Token, represents a one-of-a-kind digital item. Unlike traditional currency, where each unit is identical, every NFT has a distinct value and identity. Imagine it as a unique digital certificate of ownership. When you purchase an NFT tied to, say, a piece of digital art, you're securing a distinct spot on the Ethereum Blockchain. This spot directs to a specific online file, which showcases the artwork or content you now possess.
