Alexey Dubinsky was born in 1985 at the north coast of the Black Sea. From 2001 to 2005, the artist studied at the Nizhny Novgorod Art College, Department of Architectural Environment Design. In 2011, he graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the Russian Academy of Painting, Sculpture, and Architecture of Ilya Glazunov, specialising in historical and religious painting. That same year, Alexey won the Martini Art Weekend competition and was awarded an educational course at Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London. In his reflections, observations, and paintings, Dubinsky explores human life from multiple perspectives. The artist is drawn to the everyday reality of people and the way they strive to discover the extraordinary, the metaphysical, or the miraculous in everyday life — all while being aware of its prosaic mortality.
