Aria Vakh is a representative of a new generation of Russian artists whose interest lies in the sphere of human existence and self-identity in the world of evolving digital technologies, BIG DATA, virtual reality and artificial intelligence. Her academic background in exact sciences (Moscow State University, Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics), visual arts (Higher Courses for Scriptwriters and Directors) and media art (Rodchenko School of Photography and Multimedia) is reflected in her creative style: she works with interactive installations in which the spontaneous behaviour of the audience participants, often involved in theatrical action, is interfaced with precise algorithms of computing machines and neural networks.
