About
HAMA is the creator of paintings, collages, and installations. The artist draws inspiration from the heritage of decorative and applied arts — particularly from the ancient Oriental carpets. HAMA experiments with traditional ornaments, merging them with the Western genre of still life and infusing them with unexpected colours and shades.
By embedding these traditional conservative ancient Oriental carpets into a modern context governed by new rules and technologies, HAMA breathes new life into national culture. In doing so, the artist preserves cultural heritage within a new digital reality.
HAMA’s visual style is truly unique. The artist’s patterns are rooted in cultural elements that trace back to ancient Persia and Zoroastrian culture. Yet, the resulting artworks appear distinctly modern and resonate in any setting—whether a sophisticated art parlour or a virtual meta-room.
