About

Karatnik is an art duet of modern artists Vladimir Dubosarsky and Alexander Vinogradov. Karatnik’s art opens up a new reality that challenges the seemingly natural order of things accepted in rational and logical systems, thereby questioning this order itself. The artists’ works invite you to take a fresh look at the familiar structure of the world and, like a flash, glimpse into an alternate world where a different kind of freedom prevails. Karatnik has created a visionary fantasy of a post-apocalyptic world. Humanity has driven itself to extinction. Its idols look meaningless and misplaced on a desert island or in a rainforest. Art, too, existed only as a value within the human world. Each time we interact with art, we are reminded of that — even if only on an unconscious level.
