Valentina Ferrandes is a London-based artist and designer working across immersive media, animation, sound, and real-time environments. Her practice combines CGI, game engines, generative systems, and archival materials to explore the relationships between ecology, mythology, technology, and post-human imaginaries. Through speculative world-building and site-responsive works, she investigates how digital environments can make invisible systems — geological, microbial, cultural — perceptible and emotionally felt.
Grounded in research-based practice, Ferrandes frequently works with scientific archives, field recordings, and historical sources, translating them into sensorial narratives that sit between fiction and documentation. Her projects often draw from Mediterranean and tropical landscapes, ancient cosmologies, and post-natural imaginaries, proposing alternative futures shaped by non-human perspectives. Using tools such as Unreal Engine, procedural animation, and spatial sound, she creates immersive installations, films, and projection-based works that operate at a lived scale.
Awards
She is the recipient of awards and recognitions including the Emerging Scene Arts Prize (Dubai), Aesthetica Art Prize finalist, UK Graphics Awards finalist, and Japan Media Arts Festival jury selection.
