About

Ilia Buiaev (b. 1988) is a multidisciplinary artist and motion designer based in Paris. His practice centers on creating sensory impulses rather than narrative explanations. Instead of telling the viewer about himself, he aims to trigger personal associations, emotions, and inner imagery. Working across digital sculpture, generative systems, hand-drawn animation, and neural networks, Ilia combines multiple mediums within a single work to explore the tension between structure and emergence. His projects frequently merge classical artistic references with contemporary computational processes, forming a dialogue between cultural heritage and technological evolution. He primarily works with Blender, Unreal Engine, and ComfyUI, approaching software not merely as a tool, but as a conceptual medium. Ilia has been working as a freelance motion designer and art director since 2018, and as a digital artist since 2022. He is a graduate of Gobelins Paris.
