Elsa Carvalho (b. 1973) is a Portuguese software engineer and artist whose visual practice began in April 2021. With a PhD in computer science, she brings a strong technical foundation to her artistic work, merging programming with creative experimentation. Her practice explores the dialogue between nature and organic forms, using creative coding and artificial intelligence to generate evolving visual systems. Code-based images often serve as seeds for AI-driven transformations, giving rise to shapes that shift, grow, and behave like imagined natural organisms.
