About

Nanda Raemansky (1980) is a multi-disciplinairy artist from the Dutch bordervillage Eede, near Maldegem (BE). As an artist she is fascinated by the concept of freedom, how it works, evolves, is experienced and dealt with. She like to play with space, light and signs and languages in the streets. In her art she works layer on layer, transpositioning a composition from one medium to another, allowing space for coincidence and experiment. Mostly she chooses city- and landscapes as subject-matter and expresses them with a firm use of color and black. In 2003 she started her journey as an artist on a self-tought basis . After a while she felt like she needed to broaden her skills and attended the academy of fine arts in Ghent (BE) from 2009 to 2017. Graduating in 2014 as experimental painter and for her specialisation in 2016. And she studied mixed media/monumental arts in 2017. In 2019 she won the Dutch artprize " 't Gouden Paletje" granted by the Kinderkunstweek for her contribution with the art installation "...And so, Peace became the enemy of Freedom." Next to her art practice, Nanda is chairman & curator at cultural foundation De Zeeuwse Revolutie.
