About
Vladislav Dovgopyaty (1994) — media artist, based in Moscow. Focuses on working with generative graphics and interactive media, including installation and art-games.
His main education is applied computer science, so he looks at art through the prism of systems, algorithms and technology in general on the one hand, and on the other through the prism of psychological theories, in particular psychoanalysis, in which system analysis is applied to the field of emotional and sensual.
Vladislav's art practice began with the discovery of the "don't feel" algorithm, which he used for most of his life. He considers algorithms as something that flash a person like a firmware, and has both a personal and an impersonal (collective) character.
Its operation process resembles reverse engineering: it extracts some ordered entities from an internal byte stream, names them, and restores the source code of algorithms without interrupting their execution.
