About

Aristarkh, born in 1968 in Lugansk, is a pioneering Russian media artist. After graduating from Bauman Moscow Higher Technical University with a mechanical engineering degree, he began his artistic career in 1991. As a member of Petrovsky Boulevard 12's art community, he organized the groundbreaking public art project "Art belongs to the people." Collaborating with Vladislav Efimov, Aristarkh created numerous multimedia installations, including those featured in NCCA Moscow and MMOMA. In 2005, he and Alexey Shulgin established Electrobootik, which showcased innovative media art in prestigious venues worldwide. A Kandinsky Prize 2009 winner, Aristarkh has participated in various international art biennales. His works are part of renowned collections, such as the Tretyakov Gallery and MAMM. Between 2011-2021, Aristarkh taught media art at the Rodchenko School and curated projects at the Electromuseum. His creations span media sculptures, interactive objects, and speculative art, exploring information flow, technology, and overconsumption. Currently, Aristarkh resides and works in Moscow.
