About

Born in 1996, Vitaly embarked on his creative path as a photojournalist. In 2014, the artist independently wrote and published The Strangers — a magazine dedicated to people in the arts. In 2019, Vitaly produced a series of documentaries that were featured the following year at some of the world’s leading documentary film festivals. Vitaly defines his artistic method as archiving. Working across various media — including video, photography, installation, and text— he captures fragments of time, emotions, and personal narratives, assembling them into a big archive. This collection includes prints from Russia, Japan, Nepal, Africa, and Egypt. For Vitaly, the documentary element is essential: every project is grounded in a real story, with authentic emotions and factual detail about the person captured within the frame.

Selected exhibitions

The artist participated in one of the main programs of the IDFA documentary film festival, in the main competition of the ARTDOCFEST festival, and together with Igor Mukhin took part in the 2nd Triennial of Contemporary Art at the Garage Museum.
