Dreamscapes: digital art and spatial imagination
24january–24october
Dreamscapes: digital art and spatial imagination exhibition by IOGINALITY and Xposed Gallery explores the convergence between architectural and digital spaces.
The exhibition opens the IOGINALITY programme to explore the convergence between architectural and digital spaces. Architecture is constantly reflecting technological advances. Data-driven research, 3D modelling, digital fabrication, the advent of large-format flat screens and augmented reality (AR) have made urban surfaces permeable to thought and imagination, contributing to an increasingly illusory perception of the urban environment. This is in stark contrast to the reality of ongoing segregation, no-go zones and the expansion of zones of control and surveillance.
Artists scrutinise these gaps, redrawing skylines and proposing alternative forms of living together. Contemporary digital art has transcended traditional museum frameworks, infiltrating urban landscapes, airport transit zones and storefronts, thereby establishing a dynamic relationship with the complex fabric of the city. A screen attached to a building or a projection in a gallery is a window that opens shutters into fictional spaces for urban dwellers.

Nataša Prosenc Stearns' works unveil the complex, multilayered nature of the city. In Golden Curtain, the abandoned hotels of Los Angeles transform into permeable spaces, where everyone is a fleeting visitor. In Run City, a running figure crosses intricate facades, where the rigid glass surfaces intersect with the gentle flow of water—a vital yet scarce resource—softly permeating the video. The figure remains in constant motion, never able to pause or fully peer into the gaps within reality.
Agustín Martinez, an artist with a background in architecture, builds entire worlds in works presented at the platform, populating them with mythological creatures in constant metamorphosis. Central to these impossible landscapes are the unicorn, the hummingbird, and the butterfly, each serving a distinct purpose: to set the stage for magical emanations, whether it’s the appearance of a lover’s face or the birth of a butterfly. These transformations of the environment forge a deep connection to the sublime and the mysterious.
Mythological transformation is central to the third part of the exhibition. Inspired by the myth of Apollo and Daphne from Ovid's Metamorphoses, artist Valentina Ferrandes deconstructs the story, drawing on Bernini’s 17th-century Baroque sculpture. The work explores themes of transformation, the interaction between humanity and nature, and the vibrant, chaotic energy that underpins their relationship.
